Nexstar recently expanded its “101 Reasons TV Advertising Works” on-air sales promotional campaign initiative. The expansion of these hyper-local targeted promotional messages reflects Nexstar’s commitment to developing innovative methods of highlighting the advantages and value of local television and its role as the most effective advertising medium for local businesses. While “101 Reasons” informs and educates advertisers to the awareness and maximum impact television delivers to them, the campaign takes a look at the comparison between television and other forms of advertising media defining television as an advertisers best local investment opportunity. Originally introduced in October 2009 with 39 customizable spots for the Company’s owned or managed television stations in 34 markets, October 2010 brings an additional 42 spots to the local level with forward thinking and compelling results defining the value of local television advertising.  We are the best promoters of our news and syndicated products. We continue to take that knowledge and experience to another level to promote the business of television within our local markets.

Accompanying 42 new spots introduced in October 2010, Nexstar now has a full toolkit enabling the stations to create locally generated client testimonials showcasing the reasons television advertising works with their clients. These locally generated testimonials will complement the main campaign with a heightened emphasis on hyper-localism.

According to research sourced by The Television Bureau of Advertising, television consistently reaches the most consumers with daily household viewing times across all demographics again attaining record levels at 8 hours and 21 minutes in 2009. Television advertising also continues to rank by wide margins as the most influential medium and the most persuasive medium (85.7% and 78.1%, respectively) based on surveys with adults 18+.
