Nexstar Broadcasting Names Rafael Archilla Vice President And General Manager Of Billings, Montana Television And Digital Operations

Accomplished Industry Executive and Montana Native with 16 years of Local Broadcasting Experience to Lead KSVI-TV, KHMT-TV and YourBigSky.com

BILLINGS, Montana and IRVING, Texas (September 8, 2015) – Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that Rafael Archilla has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of KSVI-TV (ABC) and associated digital services, including community web portal YourBigSky.com serving the Billings, MT market (DMA #166). In his new role, he will also oversee Nexstar’s relationship with Mission Broadcasting Inc. station KHMT-TV (FOX), under a joint operating agreement. Mr. Archilla will assume his new responsibilities immediately and report to Brian Jones, Co-Chief Operating Officer of Nexstar Broadcasting Group.

Rafael Archilla replaces Sandra Zoldowski who was recently promoted to General Manager of Nexstar’s Grand Junction / Montrose / Glenwood Springs, CO (DMA #185) television and digital operations.

Rafael Archilla’s career in broadcast television and sales management spans over sixteen years, and he brings a comprehensive background in programming, digital services, inventory control, new business development as well as local, national and regional sales to his new role. Prior to joining Nexstar, he served as General Sales Manager of KULR-TV (NBC) in Billings, MT for eight years where he consistently demonstrated effective broadcasting sales leadership, overseeing all local and national sales efforts while developing meaningful traditional and non-traditional revenue streams for the station’s multi-platform marketing services. Prior to Billings, he served as General Sales Manager of CBS affiliate KWCH-TV satellite stations KBSD-TV, KBSH-TV and KBSL-TV in Wichita / Hutchinson, KS (DMA #67). During his tenure, he consistently delivered excellence in client service and sales performance.

From 2000 to 2003 he served as Regional Sales Manager of NBC affiliate KSNW-TV satellite stations KSNG-TV, KSNC-TV and KSNK-TV in Wichita / Hutchinson, KS. Mr. Archilla transformed KSNG-TV from a consistent underperformer into a market-leading operation by increasing customer retention and new local direct business partnerships. Before that he served as Local Sales Manager of KLJB-TV (FOX) in Davenport, IA. Mr. Archilla’s broadcast career began in 1997 at KBAK-TV (CBS) and KBFX-TV (FOX) in Bakersfield, CA (DMA #127) where he served as a Local Account Executive before being promoted to National Sales Manager. He also has sales and management experience working for a national franchise service business and an upscale hotel operator.
