Nexstar Broadcasting to Bring Louisiana Voters Live Coverage of Gubernatorial Debate on October 7, Debate to Play Important Role in Election on October 24, 2015

Local Nexstar, Mission and Knight Stations Team-up with New Orleans CW affiliate and Lake Charles FOX affiliate to deliver Debate Coverage to Louisiana Voters via Live Television Broadcast and Streaming Online Video
BATON ROUGE, NEW ORLEANS, SHREVEPORT, LAFAYETTE, MONROE, LAKE CHARLES, and ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana – September 25, 2015 – Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (“Nexstar”) announced today that seven television station markets in Louisiana will provide voters broadcast coverage of the one hour debate between gubernatorial candidates, State House Minority Leader John Bel Edwards (D), Public Service Commissioner Scott Angelle (GOP) and Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne (GOP) on October 7, 2015. The three candidates are competing for the seat that will be left vacant by current Governor Bobby Jindal (GOP), who is ineligible to serve a third consecutive term.

The debate, which takes place at The Dunham School located in Baton Rouge, LA., will be conducted before a live audience at 7:00 p.m. CT on October 7, 2015. The debate will be moderated by Louisiana political journalists, Fred Childers of WVLA-TV, Fred Hickman of WVLA-TV, and Jacque Jovic of KTAL-TV. This must-see event will air live via television broadcast on Nexstar, Mission Broadcasting Inc. and Knight Broadcasting of Baton Rouge License Corp.’s station affiliates. Reflecting its commitment to serve the local communities where it operates, Nexstar has also partnered with the CW New Orleans affiliate WNOL-TV and FOX Lake Charles affiliate KVHP-TV to deliver state-wide live debate coverage and commentary. No more than two minutes of total debate footage can be used for news purposes within the 24 hour period following the debate. Video footage of the debate may not be posted to the internet.
