Nexstar Broadcasting Group purchased KGET, Telemundo and CW affiliations from Newport Television on February 1, 2013. KGET 17 NBC: The strength of the station is the commitment it has to the community and its Newscasts. KGET has been the News leader in the market for over two decades. KGET’s syndicated programming includes Dr. Phil, Judge Judy, Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight. KGET participates and supports numerous non-profits and community organizations. This commitment is reflected in our mission statement. Telemundo KGET DT 17.3: Telemundo’s strength is in its Newscast and community involvement. Telemundo Bakersfield has the only local Spanish Newscast in the Market. CW KGET17.2 CW’s strength is viewer diversification and a younger audience. Continued improvements in the CW programming will continue to build its strength as a financial asset to the station group. The combination of all three stations allows KGET’s station group in Bakersfield to reach every aspect of the viewing community. We provided creative services and new media technologies designed to meet the advertiser’s needs.
