Mission Broadcasting acquired KLRT as part of the Newport Broadcasting acquisition in 2013. KLRT operates under various local agreements with Nexstar Broadcasting. KLRT’s sister station is CW Affiliate, KASN. KLRT is branded as FOX16. KLRT signed on in 1983 as Arkansas’s first independent TV station and became the FOX Affiliate in April of 1990. In March of 2004, KLRT entered the news arena with the launch of the 9pm Newscast. Since that time, FOX 16 News has won many awards including several Emmy’s and Edward R. Murrow awards (2015 and 2016) and is very proud to be a three time winner of the AP Award for Best Newscast (2008, 2011, and 2012) and. Fox 16’s news presence continues to grow with the latest addition of morning news, Good Day Arkansas, each weekday from 7-9am. FOX16 is the home for prime-time hits like Bones, Hell’s Kitchen, Empire and Gotham. Syndicated programming includes Wendy Williams, Two Broke Girls, Big Bang Theory, and Two & a Half Men.
