Nexstar Broadcasting Group purchased WFRV-TV a CBS affiliate, from Liberty Media Corporation on June 30, 2011. Throughout its history, WFRV-TV Channel 5 has always held a strong commitment to the communities it serves. Today, that commitment is stronger than ever, including servicing the viewers with the best possible programming and local news coverage. Toping the list of many “firsts” are the accomplishments of being the first to broadcast in living color, broadcasting digitally, broadcasting in high definition programming – both network and syndicated, to being able to produce and air high definition advertising commercials. Now, WFRV once again is leading the market with the “new” launch of our newscasts in high definition!
