From scenic river valleys to towering bluffs, WLAX/WEUX-DT covers La Crosse, Eau Claire, and the beautiful “Driftless” region stretching 150 miles from Chippewa Falls to Prairie Du Chien. Our 2 towers and 2 stations provide HD Coverage in beautiful Western Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.

WLAX-TV began with an analog signal on UHF channel 25 in 1986. Seven years later, in 1993, WLAX –TV closed the coverage gap to the northern part of the market with an analog signal on UHF channel 48, WEUX-TV. The two stations began to be co-branded together as WLAX/WEUX. They were acquired by current owner Grant Broadcasting in May of 1996. As technology advanced so did WLAX/WEUX. In December of 2004 WLAX –TV signed on a standard definition digital signal on UHF channel 17. WEUX-TV followed in 2006 with a digital signal on UHF channel 49 in standard definition. High definition capabilities were added for WLAX-DT in 2008, while also launching a new second digital sub channel offering standard definition service. In 2009, as part of the DTV transition both outlets discontinued analog transmissions. Later that year WEUX-DT upgraded its digital signal to high definition, adding a second sub channel to continue standard definition service.
