Nexstar acquired WROC, a CBS affiliate, in December 1999. The WROC Broadcasting Center was built in 1949. Known as “Rochester Radio City,” it was at the time a state of the art facility with studio capacity to seat a 400-person live audience before the studio facility was converted for television broadcast. WROC still operates today from the historic art-deco structure in Rochester, NY. The WROC News 8 team is led by news co-anchors Adam Chodak and Maureen McGuire, sports director Thad Brown, and meteorologist Stacey Pensgen, all of whom focus on providing comprehensive coverage of local news and information that impacts the daily lives of WROC's viewers. WROC syndicated programming includes popular programs such as The Dr. Oz Show, Inside Edition, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
