Cory Heikkila

Cory Heikkila joined Nexstar in 2019 and was appointed Senior Vice President, Audience and Content Development in October 2021. Mr. Heikkila is responsible for setting digital growth strategies on Nexstar’s local sites to deliver both quality and increased performance.

Prior to Nexstar, Mr. Heikkila was Vice President, Digital Audience at Hearst Newspapers, where he managed audience growth strategies for the company’s Texas group of local sites. In his 17 years with Hearst, he also ran digital reporting teams and managed the digital newsrooms of some of the company’s largest newspapers. He also ran the digital operation at Tribune’s Houston station, KIAH, which is now in the Nexstar family.

Mr. Heikkila is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with degrees in Journalism and History.
