Mission Broadcasting purchased WVNY-TV, an ABC affiliate, from Smith Broadcasting on March 1, 2013. Nexstar Broadcasting provides services for WVNY-TV and Mission Broadcasting through an outsourcing agreement. WVNY is branded in the market as Local 22 and broadcasts in Vermont, Northern New York, and New Hampshire’s Grafton and Sullivan counties, with significant viewership in Montreal, Quebec.

WVNY became the first station to air a local 7pm newscast in March 2008. WVNY is home to strong syndicated programming such as Dr. Oz, People’s Court, and Judge Judy. The strength of the ABC powerhouse prime programs (Grey’s Anatomy, Modern Family, Dancing with the Stars, and The Bachelorette) allows for a competitive share of primetime audience and revenue in the marketplace.
