NewsNation Announces Expansion of Live News Programming Beginning Late January 2026

Jesse Weber to Host a Live News Program Weeknights at 11 p.m. ET

Network Will Expand Live News Coverage on Saturdays and Sundays

CHICAGO, IL (December 17, 2025) – NewsNation today announced several additions to its programming lineup, including a new weeknight hour of live news at 11 p.m. ET, hosted by the network’s own Jesse Weber. The network also will add an hour of live news on Saturdays and Sundays.  The updated schedule will debut in late January 2026.

“With these additional hours of live news, we reinforce our commitment to deliver clear, nonpartisan journalism at a time when viewers need it most,” said Sean Compton, President of Nexstar Networks. “With the frenetic pace of today’s breaking news cycle, expanding our live coverage will ensure our viewers never miss a beat.”

Each weeknight, Mr. Weber will unpack the day’s most important news developments, examining them through lens of an expert in legal affairs.  While the news program will offer a forward-looking snapshot of the stories shaping the next day’s agenda, Mr. Weber also will welcome one standout guest each night with a story that is too compelling to overlook—whether it is a major newsmaker or an unforgettable individual. He will continue to offer legal commentary across the network’s daytime and primetime programming.

“I’m thrilled to launch this new show on NewsNation, a network dedicated to delivering straightforward, honest journalism for all Americans,” said Mr. Weber. “With my background in both law and politics, I’m eager to bring clarity as well as a millennial perspective to the stories that matter most. This is a remarkable opportunity to help create a space where facts lead the way.”

Mr. Weber joined NewsNation as a legal contributor and guest anchor in March 2023. Previously, he served as a guest host of HLN’s Crime & Justice and appeared as a legal analyst for Fox News, CNN, HLN, and CBS. Prior to his career in broadcast journalism, he practiced law at Dentons, one of the world’s largest law firms. He earned his J.D. cum lade from New York Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan.

In late January 2026, the Saturday and Sunday editions of NewsNation’s Morning in America, hosted by Hena Doba, will begin at 6 a.m. ET.  On Saturdays, NewsNation Live also will add another hour of live news. Finally, Batya!, hosted by Batya Ungar-Sargon, will air on Saturdays at 7 p.m. ET, with an encore presentation on Sundays at 11 am ET.
