NEW YORK, NY – [September 22, 2025] – WPIX-TV (PIX11), “New York’s Very Own,” today announced it will air exclusive live coverage of two events featuring the Republican and Democratic Party candidates for the offices of New Jersey Governor and Lt. Governor. The New Jersey Lieutenant Governor’s Debate will take place on Tuesday, September 30, and the New Jersey Governor’s Forum will take place on Friday, October 3. Both events will take place in front of a live audience and will be hosted by Kean University in Union, New Jersey, and air live from 7–8 p.m. ET across all PIX11 platforms, with additional pre-debate coverage on PIX11 and exclusive post-debate analysis available on PIX11’s streaming and digital channels.

The Lieutenant Governor’s Debate, “Debate Night in NJ: Lieutenant Governor,” is an official debate sponsored by the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC). The debate will feature Republican Party nominee and Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon and Democratic Party nominee and Centenary University President Dale G. Caldwell.

In addition to airing on PIX11, the debate will be simulcast on Nexstar Media owned and operated television station serving Philadelphia, WPHL-TV (PHL17), and Townsquare Media’s New Jersey 101.5 FM, and streamed on PIX11+, PIX11.com, PHL17.com, and NJ1015.com.

The Governor’s Forum, “One on One: Race for NJ Governor,” will be produced by PIX11 News and feature Democratic Party nominee and U.S. Representative Mikie Sherrill and Republican Party nominee and former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, the two leading candidates in the 2025 gubernatorial race. While not an official ELEC event, the forum is designed to give New Jersey voters a unique opportunity to hear directly from the candidates through unscripted one-on-one interviews with each. The program will also be simulcast on PHL17.

“As a station committed to serving the New York City and the Tri-State area, PIX11 is proud to provide New Jersey voters with direct access to the candidates and their positions on the issues that matter most,” said Chris McDonnell, Vice President and General Manager of Nexstar’s New York City Media Operations. “These broadcasts reflect our ongoing commitment to civic engagement and local journalism.”

Both events will be produced in collaboration with Kean University, ensuring a high-quality live presentation that connects voters across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
