Mr. Wyatt has overseen Nexstar’s Hagerstown operations since August 2018. He will assume his new responsibilities immediately and continue to report to Theresa Underwood, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager, Nexstar Broadcasting.
Mr. Wyatt has extensive executive broadcast experience in television markets across the country, with expertise in station and sales management, client and revenue development, and the expansion of local content across multiple media platforms. Prior to his tenure with Nexstar and WDVM-TV, Mr. Wyatt served as vice president and general manager of WFXG-TV (FOX) in Augusta, GA (DMA #108), where he implemented sales, marketing and digital media initiatives that resulted in increased broadcast and digital revenues, as well as market share gains. He also spearheaded the building of a new studio and the launch of a live local four-hour morning newscast.
Mr. Wyatt’s prior experience, leadership skills, and record of success at WDVM-TV, make him uniquely qualified to create, develop and execute the long-term strategy for Nexstar’s media operations in the greater Washington, D.C. market.
Commenting on the appointment, Theresa Underwood said, “Since assuming the leadership of Nexstar’s Hagerstown broadcasting and digital operations 18 months ago, Andrew has demonstrated a deep understanding of the needs of the viewers and advertisers served by WDVM-TV and its digital operations, and his familiarity with the market makes him the ideal choice to now lead our Washington D.C. operations inside the beltway, as well. While overseeing WDVM-TV he has expanded news capabilities, improved the programming lineup, established a variety of community partnerships, grown local sales and expanded digital offerings for viewers and clients. Andrew also has a long track record of transforming the operations of the stations he has managed by building successful sales teams who deliver innovative marketing solutions that generate positive results for local and national advertisers. His results-oriented and entrepreneurial approach to the business of broadcasting has enabled him to grow broadcast and digital revenues, expand local programming and identify new business opportunities.”
“I am excited to be adding oversight responsibility for Nexstar’s Washington D.C. broadcasting and digital operations of WDCW-TV to my current role as Vice President and General Manager of WDVM-TV and LocalDVM.com,” said Mr. Wyatt. “These media operations complement each other extremely well and are a clear demonstration of Nexstar’s commitment to providing outstanding service to the entire Washington, D.C. area. I’m looking forward to working with the dedicated staffs at both stations to build a long-term operational plan to expand local programming, increase promotional and community-dedicated content, develop unique cross-platform sales and marketing opportunities, and deepen the relationships with all of the communities we serve, throughout the Washington, D.C. area, Central and Western Maryland, the Eastern panhandle of West Virginia and Northern Virginia.”
