WTNH-TV Will Feature Key Debates for Connecticut’s Biggest Races, Including the Final Debate Between Governor Ned Lamont (D) and Challenger Bob Stefanowski (R)
NEW HAVEN, CT (July 1, 2022) – News 8, the Nexstar Media Inc. television station serving Connecticut, announced today it will air a series of candidate debates ahead of November’s general election. The first debate will feature the Republican candidates running for the U.S. Senate, and the series will culminate with the final debate between Gubernatorial candidates Ned Lamont (D) and Bob Stefanowski (R) on Oct. 25, 2022 at Mohegan Sun Casino.
The first debate will take place on July 26 at 8 pm between Republicans Themis Klarides, Leora Levy and Peter Lumaj, and will be televised live from the News 8 Studio on WCTX and WTNH.com.
This fall, News 8 will sponsor additional debates, including the gubernatorial debate scheduled for Oct. 25 at Mohegan Sun Casino, which will be jointly sponsored by the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities.
The debates are part of News 8’s comprehensive team coverage of the campaigns for Connecticut governor, U.S. Senate, and Congress. As part of this coverage, News 8 will continue a series of exclusive election-year voter surveys done in conjunction with The Hill and Emerson College Polling. The first of these surveys was released in May of this year and results can be seen at WTNH.com.

All candidates who have received an average of at least 10% support in a professionally conducted nonpartisan poll will be invited to participate, regardless of party affiliation.
