Nexstar Broadcasting Announces New Senior Vice President and Regional Manager Appointments to Support Expanding Platform and Ongoing Growth

Matthew Rosenfeld and Traci Wilkinson Promoted to Newly-Created Regional Management Positions Overseeing Nexstar’s Television and Digital Media Operations in Select Markets

 

IRVING, Texas – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST) announced today that Matthew Rosenfeld and Traci Wilkinson have been promoted to Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc. The appointments reflect Nexstar’s strategy to promote from within and from acquired entities by identifying proven broadcast and digital media leaders to oversee its assets on a regional basis. Mr. Rosenfeld and Ms. Wilkinson’s promotions are effective immediately upon the completion of Nexstar’s acquisition of Tribune Media Company which is expected to occur in third quarter of 2019.

In their new roles, Mr. Rosenfeld and Ms. Wilkinson will work across the Nexstar organization and with other corporate personnel to improve operating efficiencies and the effectiveness and service of the Company’s operations. Additionally, they will be responsible for executing and monitoring action plans to ensure the Company achieves corporate and regional business objectives and financial goals.

Matthew Rosenfeld joined Nexstar following the Company’s acquisition of certain Granite Broadcasting and Newport Television assets in March 2013 and brings over two decades of broadcasting and sales management experience to his new role. Mr. Rosenfeld currently serves as Vice President and General Manager of KSEE-TV (NBC), KGPE-TV (CBS) and YourCentralValley.com serving Fresno, CA (DMA #54). Under his leadership, he managed a $5.0 million capital investment in news, operational and overall facility improvements to accommodate expanded local news and associated content production, while successfully directing the realignment of Nexstar’s Fresno operations with a freshly invigorated focus on local community involvement. His efforts and initiatives to enhance and expand local programming while delivering excellence in client service and sales execution resulted in improved personnel performance and revenue growth. Prior to his tenure in California, Mr. Rosenfeld served as the President and General Manager of WTVH-TV (CBS) in Syracuse, NY and WBNG-TV (CBS/CW) in Binghamton, NY.  Earlier in his broadcasting career, he served in various sales management and account executive roles at WSTM-TV (NBC), WSTQ-TV (UPN), WSPX-TV (PAX), and WTVH-TV (CBS).

Traci Wilkinson brings over 25 years of broadcasting and sales management experience to her new role. Ms. Wilkinson joined Nexstar in November 2016 when the Company acquired certain assets from Meredith Corporation and currently serves as Vice President and General Manager of KASW-TV (CW) and yourphx.com in Phoenix, AZ (DMA #12). Under her leadership, she transformed KASW-TV from an underperformer to a highly competitive operation with a strong local brand by launching innovative sports and local entertainment programming, as well as unique digital content strategies that increased revenue share and expanded audience engagement. Prior to joining Nexstar, Ms. Wilkinson was Director of Sales for KTVK-TV (IND) and KASW-TV (CW). Before her tenure in Phoenix, she served in various sales management and account executive positions at 103.7 FM, KONG-TV (IND) and NWCN-TV in Seattle, WA. Ms. Wilkinson began her media career in 1994 as a Local Account Executive for Comcast Cable in Tacoma, WA.

In his new role, Mr. Rosenfeld will continue to be based out of Nexstar’s Fresno, California operations and in her new role, Ms. Wilkinson will be based at Nexstar’s corporate headquarters in Irving, Texas.
