Nexstar Broadcasting Names Curt Molander Vice President And General Manager Of Evansville, Indiana Broadcast And Digital Operations

Accomplished Industry Executive with over 22 Years of Broadcasting Experience to Lead WEHT-TV and Tristatehomepage.com

EVANSVILLE, Indiana and IRVING, Texas (November 19, 2015) – Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that Curt Molander has been named Vice President and General Manager of WEHT-TV (ABC) and associated digital and mobile assets including TriStateHomepage.com and Tristate on the Go, serving the Evansville, IN market (DMA #103). In his new role, he will also oversee Nexstar’s relationship with WTVW-TV (CW) through an Outsourcing Agreement with Mission Broadcasting. Mr. Molander will assume his new responsibilities immediately and will report to Bill Sally, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Nexstar Broadcasting.

Curt Molander’s broadcasting career spans over two decades, with expertise in station management, local and national sales, new business development and strategic planning across multiple media platforms. Prior to joining Nexstar, he served as General Manager of WJHG -TV and WECP-TV serving the Panama City, Florida DMA. Under his leadership, he improved client retention and achieved consistent growth in new business that resulted in significant increases in revenue and market share. Additionally, he built an award winning news product and led the strategic launch of a new CBS affiliation, which delivered a distinct competitive advantage in the market through greater local content delivery. During his tenure in Panama City, Mr. Molander was deeply involved in the local community through multiple organizations including serving as a Chairman of the Board and Campaign Chair of the United Way of Northwest Florida.

Prior to his term in Panama City, Mr. Molander spent five years at WMTV-TV in Madison, WI, as their National and General Sales Manager where under his direction; the sales team produced quantifiable gains in revenue and market share through the successful execution of creative marketing initiatives and new business development strategies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Molander worked as a national account executive at Petry Television in Chicago, IL and as a local account executive at WKOW-TV in Madison, WI and both WIFR-TV and WREX-TV in Rockford, Illinois.

Mr. Molander earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University. He and his wife, Kristen, along with his son, Justin, and daughter, Lauren will be relocating to the Evansville community.
