Nexstar Brings Together Nearly 2.3 Million Viewers Across 90 Tennessee Counties Via Television Broadcast and Livestream Video
NASHVILLE, TN and IRVING, TX (April 28, 2020) – Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST), announced today that it will host a live virtual Town Hall meeting with Tennessee Governor Bill Lee on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. CT. The governor will address the statewide response to the Covid-19 virus and detail the actions the state will take to reopen the economy. He will be joined by Tennessee State Health Commissioner, Dr. Lisa Piercey. In keeping with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidance on social distancing, the virtual Town Hall will take place at the studios of WKRN-TV in Nashville, Tennessee, and bring viewers in communities across the state together via live television broadcast and livestream video. Viewers are invited to submit questions to Governor Lee and Dr. Piercey via social media using the hashtag #TNTownHall.
The half-hour television broadcast will be hosted by Bob Mueller, WKRN-TV anchor, and will bring together nearly 2.3 million viewers across 90 Tennessee counties via television broadcast and livestream video. The broadcast will air on six Nexstar Broadcasting stations serving Tennessee, including WKRN-TV (ABC) in Nashville, WREG-TV (CBS) in Memphis, WATE-TV (ABC) in Knoxville, WJHL-TV (CBS) and EJHL-TV (ABC) in Tri-Cities, and WJKT-TV (FOX) in Jackson, TN. The broadcast will also be carried by WRCB-TV (NBC) in Chattanooga. All of the stations will also provide a livestream of the broadcast on their respective websites.
The Town Hall will open with Governor Lee and Dr. Piercey addressing the latest statewide health and business guidelines. The broadcast will then turn to questions submitted by viewers from around the state via a variety of social media platforms. Viewers can contribute questions prior to and during the Town Hall using the hashtag #TNTownHall.
