IRVING, TX (July 29, 2020) – The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation announced today it will donate $10,000 to “THE Kitchen” of Wichita Falls, TX, on behalf of KFDX-TV 3, the Nexstar Broadcasting television station serving the Wichita Falls area (DMA #147).
For more than 50 years, “THE Kitchen” has been feeding the hungry of Wichita Falls by providing nutritious meals to the needy through four local community programs including, The Red Door, The Green Door, Meals on Wheels and The Kids Café. “THE Kitchen” serves more than 1500 meals each day.
“‘THE Kitchen’ is vitally important to the Wichita Falls community, and the demand on its services has only increased due to the current pandemic,” said Wayne Reed, Vice President and General Manager of KFDX-TV 3. “Every day ‘THE Kitchen’ turns out high-quality meals that benefit families, children and seniors in need. Many KFDX-TV 3 employees volunteer at ‘THE Kitchen’, helping with meal preparation and the distribution of food to those in need, and we are proud of their efforts. Giving back to the communities served by Nexstar in 114 markets across the country is core to the company’s mission and we are honored to make this donation of $10,000 on behalf of KFDX-TV 3, Nexstar Media Group, and all of Nexstar’s 13,000 employees.”

The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation’s mission is to contribute to and work with public charities and non-profit organizations to improve the communities in which Nexstar Media and its subsidiaries do business.
