Nexstar Media Foundation Announces Honorees for Day Nine of “30 Days of Giving” Initiative
Bagel Rescue and Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue Named as Recipients of $5,000 Grants
Irving, TX (June 9, 2026) – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making a $5,000 contribution to both Bagel Rescue and Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue as part of the company’s “30 Days of Giving” initiative, a month-long program recognizing and supporting nonprofit and charitable organizations serving communities across Nexstar’s nationwide footprint.
“30 Days of Giving” is an employee‑driven initiative created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nexstar’s founding in June 1996. Locally-led committees reviewed submissions from Nexstar’s 13,000 employees and selected charitable and nonprofit organizations to nominate for grants. More than 100 organizations were nominated, and the Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors chose 60 to receive $5,000 each. Every day during the month of June, the Foundation will award two $5,000 grants; by the end of the month the Foundation will have committed $300,000 to “30 Days of Giving.”
The Foundation today recognized Bagel Rescue and Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue as recipients of $5,000 grants. Employees at Nexstar’s National Sales Office based in Atlanta, GA, and WPRI-TV, the Nexstar television station serving Providence, RI, nominated the organizations.
Bagel Rescue supports hunger relief and reduces food waste by connecting restaurants with excess food, specifically bagels and baked goods, to neighbors in need. Through donations from local bakeries, volunteers deliver bagels to food pantries, shelters, feeding programs, and community outreach efforts.
The organization serves more than 60 neighborhoods in 12 counties in the Atlanta metro area and has expanded into new cities across the Southeast including Alexandria, VA, Athens and Brunswick, GA, Nashville, TN, Raleigh, NC, and as far west as Portland, OR.

Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue in Warwick, RI, is a rescue, shelter, and medical facility that provides cats and kittens saved from the streets with complete veterinary exams, spay or neuter surgeries, vaccinations, parasite treatments, microchips, and more. Founded in 2017, Scruffy Paws works with a statewide network of animal control agencies, shelters, veterinarians, and volunteers. The organization often treats animals with complex medical needs and coordinates large-scale rescue efforts, including stray cat colonies and in cases of hoarding.
