Nexstar Media Foundation Announces Honorees for Day Ten of “30 Days of Giving” Initiative
Veteran Overland Foundation and the Mary Stowe Boyd Robotic Pets for Veterans Program Named as Recipients of $5,000 Grants
Irving, TX (June 10, 2026) – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making a $5,000 contribution to both Veteran Overland Foundation and Capital Caring Health’s Mary Stowe Boyd Robotic Pets for Veterans program as part of the company’s “30 Days of Giving” initiative, a month-long program recognizing and supporting nonprofit and charitable organizations serving communities across Nexstar’s nationwide footprint.
“30 Days of Giving” is an employee‑driven initiative created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nexstar’s founding in June 1996. Locally-led committees reviewed submissions from Nexstar’s 13,000 employees and selected charitable and nonprofit organizations to nominate for grants. More than 100 organizations were nominated, and the Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors chose 60 to receive $5,000 each. Every day during the month of June, the Foundation will award two $5,000 grants; by the end of the month the Foundation will have committed $300,000 to “30 Days of Giving.”
The Foundation today recognized Veteran Overland Foundation and Capital Caring Health’s Mary Stowe Boyd Robotic Pets for Veterans program as recipients of $5,000 grants. The organizations were nominated by employees at KTVX/KUCW, the Nexstar television station serving Salt Lake City, UT, and WDCW/WDVM in Washington, D.C., respectively.
Since December 2016, Veteran Overland Foundation (V/O) has supported military veterans through outdoor and overland activities and helped address many of the challenges veterans face, including PTSD, social isolation, and the transition to civilian life post deployment. V/O fulfills its mission by leading multi-day overlanding trips, traveling “over land,” while taking all necessary supplies for the journey. Previous overlanding trips have taken participants through Moab, Idaho, Colorado, and Baja Mexico. Based in Portland, OR, V/O primarily serves veterans in the Pacific Northwest and is open to combat and disabled veterans, as well as their families.

Capital Caring Health has provided hospice, palliative care, and counseling to nearly 200,000 patients and their families since its founding in 1977. What began as a small team in a single office has expanded to a regional network that encompasses multiple neighborhood offices across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The “30 Days of Giving” grant will be designated towards the organization’s Mary Stowe Boyd Robotic Pets for Veterans program, which provides a robotic companion dog or cat to veterans living with dementia across Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. These special robotic pets respond just like real pets through sight, sound, and touch, can be with each veteran around the clock, and are clinically proven to provide joy, comfort, interactive companionship to seniors, and peace of mind to their families and caregivers.
