Nexstar Media Foundation Announces Honorees for Day Twelve of “30 Days of Giving” Initiative
River Valley Food Bank and Sleep in Heavenly Peace-Grand Junction Named as Recipients of $5,000 Grants
Irving, TX (June 12, 2026) – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making a $5,000 contribution to both River Valley Food Bank and Sleep in Heavenly Peace-Grand Junction as part of the company’s “30 Days of Giving” initiative, a month-long program recognizing and supporting nonprofit and charitable organizations serving communities across Nexstar’s nationwide footprint.
“30 Days of Giving” is an employee‑driven initiative created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nexstar’s founding in June 1996. Locally-led committees reviewed submissions from Nexstar’s 13,000 employees and selected charitable and nonprofit organizations to nominate for grants. More than 100 organizations were nominated, and the Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors chose 60 to receive $5,000 each. Every day during the month of June, the Foundation will award two $5,000 grants; by the end of the month the Foundation will have committed $300,000 to “30 Days of Giving.”
The Foundation today recognized River Valley Food Bank and Sleep in Heavenly Peace-Grand Junction as recipients of $5,000 grants. The organizations were nominated by employees at KNWA/KFTA/KXNW-TV, the Nexstar television stations serving Ft. Smith/Fayetteville, AR, and KREX/KFQX/KGJT-TV in Grand Junction/Montrose, CO, respectively.
The River Valley Regional Food Bank in Fort Smith, AR, fights hunger in the River Valley by collecting, storing, and distributing food to area families in need. With 1 in 5 Arkansans and 16.6% of River Valley residents in the region experiencing food insecurity, the organization supports more than 140 local pantries and provides food to nearly 100,000 people a month. The Food Bank also assists residents in Crawford, Franklin, Johnson, Logan, Polk, Scott, Sebastian and Yell counties with enrollment in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
“We chose the River Valley Regional Food Bank because their work reaches people right here in our own communities — families, children, seniors, and neighbors who may be facing a difficult season and need a little extra help,” said Lisa Kelsey, Vice President and General Manager of KNWA/KFTA/KXNW-TV in Ft. Smith/Fayetteville, AR. “The $5,000 gift from the Nexstar Charitable Foundation can help provide 50,000 meals. That means this donation isn’t just a number — it’s food on tables and relief for families in our back yards. In a state where hunger rates are among the highest in the country, we believe this is where our support can make a real and immediate difference.”

Since that time, SHP Grand Junction has delivered more than 400 beds to children in Mesa County, complete with bedding, a pillow, and a twin mattress. They are now focused on raising money, building and delivering beds for Grand Junction, Clifton, Palisade, Fruita, Loma, Mack, Whitewater, Collbran, Mesa, and Molina.
“For more than 70 years KREX has used the power of local content to uplift our neighbors, and we are proud to help Sleep in Heavenly Peace further their mission of ensuring every child has a safe, comfortable place to sleep at night” said Bill Dallman, Vice President and General Manager of KREX/KFQX/KGJT-TV in Grand Junction/Montrose, CO. “No child in our community should have to sleep on the floor, and this grant will directly fund the materials needed to build and deliver fully-furnished beds to local families.”
