Nexstar Media Foundation Announces Honorees for Day Twenty-Nine of “30 Days of Giving” Initiative
Active Southern West Virginia and Community Music School of Springfield Named as Recipients of $5,000 Grants
Irving, TX (June 29, 2026) – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making a $5,000 contribution to both Active Southern West Virginia and Community Music School of Springfield as part of the company’s “30 Days of Giving” initiative, a month-long program recognizing and supporting nonprofit and charitable organizations serving communities across Nexstar’s nationwide footprint. Active Southern West Virginia and Community Music School of Springfield were nominated by the employees at WVNS-TV, the Nexstar television station serving Bluefield/Beckley, WV, and those at WWLP-TV in Springfield, MA, respectively.
“30 Days of Giving” is an employee‑driven initiative created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nexstar’s founding in June 1996. Locally-led committees reviewed submissions from Nexstar’s 13,000 employees and selected charitable and nonprofit organizations to nominate for grants. More than 100 organizations were nominated, and the Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors chose 60 to receive $5,000 each. Every day during the month of June, the Foundation will award two $5,000 grants; by the end of the month the Foundation will have committed $300,000 to “30 Days of Giving.”
Active Southern West Virginia (Active SWV) provides an ecosystem of physical activity by offering programs that promote healthy lifestyles and chronic disease prevention, addressing the state’s high rates of heart disease, diabetes, and shortened life expectancy.
Founded in 2014, Active SWV partners with residents, businesses, schools, and local governments to develop community programs, including Workplace Wellness and Kids Run Club, that motivate and instill healthy habits and excitement about physical activity to people of all ages.

Community Music School of Springfield (CMSS) provides music education, arts learning, and cultural engagement that empowers individuals, inspires creativity, and promotes well-being in the community. Each week, more than 60 educators serve more than 2,500 students through private lessons, group classes and ensembles, early childhood programs, music therapy, and lifelong learning opportunities for adults.
Over the past 40 years, CMSS has raised and awarded more than $1.7 million in financial aid and scholarships, with approximately 70% of students receiving music education for free or at a reduced cost.
