IRVING, Texas – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) (the “Company”) announced today that KARK-TV (NBC), KNWA-TV (NBC), KTAL-TV (NBC) and WATN-TV (ABC) in partnership with Mission Broadcasting, Inc. stations KTVE-TV (NBC) and KOLR-TV (CBS), will broadcast an exclusive discussion with all four Arkansas Congressional leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives. Produced by Nexstar’s recently expanded Washington D.C. News Bureau, “Your Voice Arkansas: A Congressional Forum” will air on all six stations in two parts beginning Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. CDT. Drew Petrimoulx, Nexstar Media’s Washington Correspondent and former Arkansas Capitol Reporter, will lead the discussion with U.S. Representatives Rick Crawford (R-AR1), French Hill (R-AR2), Steve Womack (R-AR3) and Bruce Westerman (R-AR4). Highlighting the Company’s organization-wide commitment to broadcasting excellence and enhanced service to local communities and viewers, in March 2017 Nexstar announced that the Company was making investments to expand its Washington D.C. News Bureau and hire additional news personnel. “Your Voice Arkansas: A Congressional Forum” is the first political programming produced from Capitol Hill by Nexstar’s Washington D.C. News Bureau featuring a group of local lawmakers addressing questions from voters on specific issues that are impacting their local districts. With participating stations reaching all 75 counties across Arkansas, this unprecedented event gives voters the opportunity to engage directly with their Congressional delegation.

“For over two decades, Nexstar has cultivated an organization-wide commitment to deliver exceptional local programming and service to the local communities where we operate,” stated Tim Busch, President of Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc. “Now more than ever viewers rely on our stations for credible news and information. As one of the nation’s largest local media companies, we remain focused on extending our legacy of local news leadership by investing in our news resources and reporting capabilities to deliver more hours of trusted local programming to our viewers. Our recently expanded Washington D.C. News Bureau is already living up to its mission by providing exclusive access to local lawmakers and enhanced coverage of local news from Capitol Hill to each of our local markets. We look forward to connecting voters across the state of Arkansas with their local lawmakers in our upcoming forum and thank Representatives Crawford, Hill, Womack and Westerman for their participation.”

Local Arkansans who would like to hear from their Congressman may submit questions ahead of the forum by using the hashtag #YourVoiceAR on Twitter or Facebook today. Jessi Turnure, KARK-TV Political Reporter and “Capitol View Arkansas” Host, will collect questions over the next week and present them to the Arkansas U.S. Representatives as part of the televised conversation. In addition, all four Congressmen will be live tweeting during Thursday evening’s broadcast of “Your Voice Arkansas: A Congressional Forum” to answer additional questions that were not addressed during the televised portion of the program. Local Arkansans who are not on social media may email their questions to Jessi directly at jturnure@nexstar.tv.

“At Nexstar, we are committed to supporting the needs and interests of the local communities that we proudly serve in the great state of Arkansas and across the United States,” stated Jerry Walsh, VP, Local Content Development of Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc. “Our local news programming is an important public service we provide to local communities and our viewers trust us to deliver balanced, accurate and timely information to keep them factually informed. The expanded resources of our Washington D.C. News Bureau allows Nexstar to deliver exclusive coverage at the local level of issues on Capitol Hill that are important to American families. We are grateful to Representatives Crawford, Hill, Womack and Westerman for agreeing to participate in ‘Your Voice Arkansas: A Congressional Forum’ and for the tremendous support we have received from the local community about the upcoming event.”

U.S. Representative Bruce Westerman stated, “I look forward to Thursday’s forum, an opportunity for the Arkansas Congressional delegation to hear and address the concerns of our constituents. I thank Congressmen Crawford, Hill, and Womack for participating in this important dialogue and I thank the Nexstar D.C. News Bureau and participating stations for organizing this unique and innovative event.”

U.S. Representative Steve Womack commented, “The Arkansas Delegation Congressional Forum allows us to address a variety of concerns from our constituents. Thank you Nexstar D.C. News Bureau and participating stations for coordinating this event and thank you to my fellow members of the Arkansas delegation for agreeing to participate. I look forward to attending and engaging in the conversation.”

U.S. Representative French Hill said, “Thursday’s forum will be great opportunity to discuss what we’re working on in Congress, and hear from Arkansans on the issues that matter most to them. I’m looking forward to having a fruitful conversation with Rep. Crawford, Rep. Womack, and Rep. Westerman, and I want to thank the Nexstar D.C. News Bureau and participating stations for hosting us.”

U.S. Representative Rick Crawford added, “The House of Representatives is the one closest and most accountable to the people, which is why Arkansans need to know that they have direct access to their elected representatives in forums like this one. Our discussion should be positive and focused on what all of us can do to improve the quality of life for people in Arkansas.
