The Hill Launches “The Hill Insider,” A New Premium Digital Subscription Service
The Hill, the nation’s leading digital-first political news brand, today announced the launch of “The Hill Insider,” a new premium digital subscription service offering readers access to exclusive high-quality editorial content and one-of-a-kind experiences beginning July 8th. The Hill Insider will feature premium newsletters, live interactive video calls with The Hill’s journalists and editors, and daily deep-dive reporting that enables readers to get closer to the stories shaping Washington, D.C., and the nation. The Hill’s free, ad-supported experience remains fully available to all readers; The Hill Insider adds a premium membership offering for those seeking deeper access, richer context, and direct engagement.
“For more than 30 years, The Hill has delivered trusted, unbiased political news coverage, building a loyal audience that values deeper reporting and in-depth analysis,” said Bill Sammon, SVP of Washington, D.C. Editorial Content for The Hill. “We are pleased to offer this community of readers a new exclusive experience with The Hill Insider, giving them greater access to the conversations, insights, and reporting shaping the nation’s capital. As we all know, in Washington, information is power.“
The new service will launch with two subscription tiers designed to give readers greater access to premium reporting and exclusive experiences on TheHill.com. The Basic membership, priced at $5.99 per month or $59.99 annually, includes full access to The Hill Insider content. The Premium membership, priced at $9.99 per month or $99.99 annually, includes everything in Basic, plus VIP access to The Hill’s live events and an ad-free* reading experience on thehill.com, with no display or video ads. First-time subscribers can join The Hill Insider for a free 14-day trial.
“The Hill Insider is designed for readers who want more than the daily news cycle,” said Justin Eli, SVP, Digital Business Strategy & Product Development. “While The Hill’s core news experience will remain free and accessible to millions of readers, The Hill Insider offers exclusive access, deeper insight, and direct engagement with our journalists. It’s a premium experience built for those who want to go beyond the headlines and better understand the people, policies, and decisions emerging from Washington—and what they mean for the country.”
The launch comes as The Hill continues to strengthen its position as one of the nation’s most influential political news organizations. According to Comscore, for the past eight consecutive months The Hill has ranked #1 for unique visitors, making it the most visited political news site in the country. Additionally, according to Rational 360, The Hill ranks as the second most followed influencer of Congress, across both Republican and Democratic audiences.
On Wednesday, July 15, The Hill will once again team up with Nexstar’s cable news network, NewsNation, to co-host the second annual Hill Nation Summit, a daylong bipartisan event featuring a powerhouse lineup of members of Congress and the Cabinet, business leaders, and political insiders. Throughout the event, participants will discuss a range of critical issues facing Americans today, including the economy, healthcare, foreign affairs, immigration, and more.
* The ad-free experience removes display and video advertising on thehill.com. Advertising and sponsored content within The Hill’s mobile app, podcasts, and free newsletters are not included.
