CHICAGO, IL (June 16, 2026) – As the United States approaches its 250th birthday, NewsNation, America’s fastest-growing cable news network in total day and primetime, today announced that it will launch “Spirit of America,” a special multi-platform cross-country reporting series celebrating the people, places, and values that make the nation extraordinary.
“America is a remarkable place, and its beauty can be found in every corner of the country – from iconic cities like Los Angeles and New York to the small towns and communities that connect us all,” said Cherie Grzech, NewsNation President of News & Politics. “We are proud to take viewers on a new road trip that highlights what makes America truly unique.”
The new series will premiere June 29 on NewsNation’s flagship morning program Morning in America and will air across the network’s daytime and primetime programming, with expanded storytelling on NewsNation and The Hill digital platforms. The series also will be available on the connected TV apps of Nexstar’s local television stations across the U.S..
Throughout the series, Senior National Correspondent Brian Entin will travel thousands of miles through small towns, rural communities, and cities across the Midwest and Appalachia to spotlight stories that rarely make national headlines – stories of hard work, service, resilience, freedom and opportunity that reflect the enduring spirit of the nation.
Along the way, Spirit of America will introduce viewers to remarkable Americans whose stories embody the nation’s values of service, perseverance, innovation, and community. Viewers will meet an Iowa veteran helping fellow servicemembers one flagpole at a time; craftsmen in Maryland preserving centuries-old ironworking traditions at one of the oldest continuously operating blacksmith shops in the United States; a teenage civic leader in Florida preparing the next generation of public servants; a Nevada Air Force veteran finding healing and purpose after military service; volunteers carrying a single American flag through all 50 states to support disabled veterans; and a fourth-generation Ohio farming family whose beloved sweet corn has been a summertime tradition for generations.
The Spirit of America road trip will culminate on July 4, with Mr. Entin contributing to NewsNation’s special coverage of Independence Day.
As part of NewsNation’s America250 initiative, the network premiered a one-hour multi-platform special last month “America’s Greatest Sailors: Heroes of the High Seas,” which honored the U.S. Navy, Additionally, NewsNation launched “Made in America,” a special series featuring iconic brands that embody patriotism and service, including Ford Motor Company, Whirlpool Corporation, and The Campbell’s Company.
