Nexstar Media Foundation Announces Honorees for Day Seventeen of “30 Days of Giving” Initiative
Boys and Girls Club of Bay County and Voices Against Cancer Named as Recipients of $5,000 Grants
Irving, TX (June 17, 2026) – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making a $5,000 contribution to both Boys and Girls Club of Bay County and Voices Against Cancer as part of the company’s “30 Days of Giving” initiative, a month-long program recognizing and supporting nonprofit and charitable organizations serving communities across Nexstar’s nationwide footprint.
“30 Days of Giving” is an employee‑driven initiative created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nexstar’s founding in June 1996. Locally-led committees reviewed submissions from Nexstar’s 13,000 employees and selected charitable and nonprofit organizations to nominate for grants. More than 100 organizations were nominated, and the Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors chose 60 to receive $5,000 each. Every day during the month of June, the Foundation will award two $5,000 grants; by the end of the month the Foundation will have committed $300,000 to “30 Days of Giving.”
The Foundation today recognized the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County and Voices Against Cancer as recipients of $5,000 grants. The organizations were nominated by employees at WMBB-TV, the Nexstar television station serving Panama City, FL, and KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, SD, respectively.
The Boys and Girls Club of Bay County has provided a safe, reliable place for local youth to go to during after-school and out-of-school hours since 1965. The Club supports children and teens through services including mental health and substance abuse support, academic enrichment in ELA and STEM, health & wellness education, career preparation, financial literacy, leadership development focused on character and integrity.
In October 2018, Hurricane Michael devastated the Club’s two main facilities, the Chapman Unit and its Administrative Office, and severely damaged the CC Moore Unit and Hilton Teen Center. The Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s grant will go towards rebuilding the Club’s facility in Millville, which has no other kid-friendly activities within walking distance.
“I am elated the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County is receiving this boost from the Nexstar Charitable Foundation,” said Tracey Rogers, Vice President & General Manager of WMBB-TV in Panama City, FL. “WMBB News 13 has been privileged to partner with the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County for decades and we are anxious to see the organization get back to operating at full capacity.”
Commenting on his nomination of the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County, WMBB News 13 Director of Operations Chris Golden said: “The Boys and Girls Club has long serviced the needs of the underprivileged in our community. Since Hurricane Michael in 2018, they’ve operated without two of their facilities and have had to work out of schools which doesn’t give them a true home base and they’ve faced challenges. “I nominated them because they’re finally in a place where they can start repairing one of the two facilities that haven’t been able to re-open and I’m hopeful this donation can help them get back to doing what they do best, which is helping children.”

Voices Against Cancer (VAC) raises funds and awareness for pediatrics, pediatric cancer, and pediatric cancer research. Its family assistance program provides financial help in the form of gift cards for gas, groceries, medical items not covered by insurance, and lodging.
VAC also provides a community of guidance and support for the entire family: the patients, the siblings who may experience emotional and behavioral challenges, and the parents who could lose some of their household income due to treatment-related work disruptions or the need to leave their jobs to care for their child.
“We are honored to support Voices Against Cancer and the incredible work they do for children and families facing cancer,” said Mari Ossenfort, Vice President and General Manager of KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, SD. “Their commitment to providing both financial assistance and moments of joy during incredibly difficult times truly makes a difference. Through this donation, we’re proud to help further their mission of giving kids a voice and put a smile on their faces.”
Commenting on his nomination of Voices Against Cancer, Logan Kurtenbach, KELO-TV Creative Producer, said: “The work Voices Against Cancer does for families facing every parent’s worst nightmare, a child battling cancer, is truly extraordinary. Through their fundraising efforts, community events, and direct support, they provide hope and assistance when families need it most.
“I’ve personally witnessed their impact and compassion firsthand when my soccer teammate faced the unimaginable challenge of having a child with terminal cancer. All it took was a text, and the Voices Against Cancer team immediately stepped up, helping spread awareness for our fundraiser and exploring ways to support his family through their organization. They never hesitate to help.”
