Nexstar Broadcasting Promotes Randy Stone to Vice President and General Manager of Monroe, Louisiana Television and Digital Operations

MONROE, Louisiana and IRVING, Texas, May 19, 2015 – Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that Randy Stone has been promoted to Vice President and General Manager of KARD-TV (FOX) and associated digital services, including Bounce TV, community web portal Myarklamiss.com and myarklamiss.biz serving the Monroe, Louisiana and El Dorado, Arkansas DMA (#137). In his new role, he will also oversee Nexstar’s relationship with Mission Broadcasting’s affiliate KTVE-TV (NBC) under a joint operating agreement. Mr. Stone will assume his new responsibilities immediately and report to Julie Pruett, Senior Vice President of Nexstar Broadcasting.

Randy Stone has 30 years of combined broadcast television and sales management experience with a comprehensive background in local news production, digital services, entertainment programming, new business development, inventory control and regional sales. Since 2009, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Nexstar’s television and digital operations in Grand Junction / Montrose / Glenwood Springs, CO (DMA #185) including MyNetworkTV affiliate KGJT-TV as well as CBS affiliate KREX-TV and its satellite stations KREG and KREY. During that time, Mr. Stone was also responsible for managing KFQX-TV (FOX) under a local marketing agreement. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Stone developed and led highly effective teams that implemented sales and new media initiatives resulting in increased market share and profitability at the stations. In addition, he developed creative sales strategies that generated local and national revenue share gains while significantly increasing customer retention and new local direct business partners.

Before joining Nexstar, Mr. Stone was the General Sales Manager (“GSM”) of KAUZ-TV (CBS), Texoma CW and the stations’ digital operations in Wichita Falls, TX and Lawton, OK where he enhanced sales department performance and exceeded company objectives. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2009 he was the Director of Sales of WRSP-TV (FOX), WCCU-TV (FOX), and WBUI (CW) serving the Springfield / Decatur / Champaign, IL markets. Before his tenure in IL, he was with Grant Telecasting for nine years serving as the Director of Sales at KLJB-TV (FOX) and KGWB (now KGCW-TV) in the Quad Cities / Davenport, IA market, while also acting as the GSM of Grant’s Midwest Region, overseeing all sales efforts for six network-affiliated broadcast television stations—now owned by Nexstar. Earlier in his career, Mr. Stone worked as a GSM of WPMI-TV (NBC) / WJTC-TV (IND) and GSM / National Sales Manager of WZDX-TV (FOX).

Mr. Stone earned his Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Alabama and served as President of the University’s Alpha Epsilon Rho Honorary Broadcasting Society from 1979-1980. He currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce.

In recognition of his career achievements, Randy Stone was named General Sales Manager of the year at Grant Broadcasting in 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. He previously served as the Chairman of Fox Broadcasting Sales Advisory Committee for a five year term, an Officer of the UPN Broadcasting Sales Advisory Committee and as an SAC Representative for the Atlanta, Chicago, and St. Louis regions at Fox Sales Seminars for a two year term.

Randy Stone will be immediately relocating to the Monroe, Louisiana community.
