Nexstar Media Foundation Announces Honorees for Day Thirteen of “30 Days of Giving” Initiative
Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Camp Hope and Star Legacy Foundation in Arkansas Named as Recipients of $5,000 Grants
Irving, TX (June 13, 2026) – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making a $5,000 contribution to both Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Camp Hope and The Arkansas Chapter of the Star Legacy Foundation as part of the company’s “30 Days of Giving” initiative, a month-long program recognizing and supporting nonprofit and charitable organizations serving communities across Nexstar’s nationwide footprint.
“30 Days of Giving” is an employee‑driven initiative created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nexstar’s founding in June 1996. Locally-led committees reviewed submissions from Nexstar’s 13,000 employees and selected charitable and nonprofit organizations to nominate for grants. More than 100 organizations were nominated, and the Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors chose 60 to receive $5,000 each. Every day during the month of June, the Foundation will award two $5,000 grants; by the end of the month the Foundation will have committed $300,000 to “30 Days of Giving.”
The Foundation today recognized Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Camp Hope and The Arkansas Chapter of Star Legacy Foundation as recipients of $5,000 grants. The organizations were nominated by employees at WATE-TV, the Nexstar television station serving Knoxville, TN, and KARK/KLRT-TV in Little Rock/Pine Bluff, AR, respectively.
The Vanderbilt Burn Center is the only dedicated American Burn Association verified burn center serving adults and children in Tennessee. Its 25-bed facility has been providing quality, compassionate care to burn patients since 1983 and provides outreach programs, continuing education opportunities, and ongoing research to maintain the most advanced level of care for burn patients.
The Foundation’s grant will be designated for use by the burn center’s Camp Hope, which offers a free week of physical and emotional healing for children ages 6 to 16 who have suffered burn injuries. Children enjoy some of their favorite summer activities such as swimming, crafts, and nature hikes with others who have similar experiences and challenges. Volunteers include medical professionals from Vanderbilt, adult burn survivors, local firefighters, and emergency medical services personnel.
“WATE is proud to spread awareness and support for non-profits, like Camp Hope, that make a difference,” said Kimberly Byrd, Vice President and General Manager of WATE-TV in Knoxville, TN.

The Star Legacy Foundation works to prevent stillbirth and infant loss through research, education, awareness, and compassionate support for grieving families. KARK/KLRT-TV’s Director of Sales, Danielle Peterson, helped establish the Arkansas chapter in July 2024 after the loss of her son, Jack.
The Arkansas Chapter of Star Legacy Foundation supports families in Little Rock and the surrounding areas with counseling resources and support tools, including remembrance photography and funeral information, and connects family members with local and virtual support groups. It also assists with stillbirth documentation such as a Certificate of Stillbirth or a Certificate of Birth Resulting in Stillbirth. The organization advocates for legislation like paid family leave to include a stillbirth, insurance coverage for fetal autopsies, standardized post-stillbirth care, and provides evidence-based continuing education for medical professionals.
“It is our honor to celebrate the mission of Star Legacy Foundation’s life-impacting cause in the state of Arkansas,” said Kyle King, Vice President and General Manager of KARK/KLRT-TV in Little Rock/Pine Bluff, AR. “Nexstar’s donation will provide enhanced resources for these families in our communities.”
