Our Foundation

Giving back to the communities served by Nexstar across the country is core to the Nexstar’s mission.

The Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s mission is to contribute to and work with public charities and non-profit organizations to improve the communities in which Nexstar and its subsidiaries do business. The forerunner of the foundation was originally established in 1958; it makes donations of approximately $350,000 annually.

From fighting food insecurity, supporting our vets, and promoting diversity in media and entertainment, our Foundation is proud to help support a variety of organizations throughout the U.S.

Contributions made in 2025 include:

      • Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation in Philadelphia, PA: dedicated to finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.
      • Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley in Rock Island, IL: makes meaningful, orchestrated matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 7 through 18, throughout eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
      • Food 2 Kids in Lubbock, TX: sends nutritious shelf-stable bags of food home with children each Friday so children can come to school ready to learn on Monday morning. Currently serving 2,250 children and youth.
      • Armed Services YMCA San Diego in San Diego, CA: enhances the lives of military members and their families in spirit, mind, and body through programs and services relevant to the unique challenges of military life.
