Nexstar Broadcasting Group purchased KARK, an NBC affiliate, from Morris Multimedia on August 1, 2003. The station has captured several regional and national Edward R. Murrow awards for local news excellence. KARK’s focus is on providing a hyper-local product, relevant to families in Central Arkansas and on providing local and national advertisers the platform to drive their business. KARK and its website, ArkansasMatters.com, have proven to be very successful in areas of audience development and business development. KARK is also high profile in the community, leading the marketplace in involvement with the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure, the Arkansas State Fair and the largest festival in the state, Riverfest. The station has also honored volunteers with the KARK Community Service Awards Gala for more than 30 years. The station’s syndicated programming includes The Doctors, Judge Judy, Steve Harvey and Entertainment Tonight.
