On August 1, 2018, Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc. entered into an agreement to purchase the assets of KRBK, the FOX affiliate in Springfield, Missouri from Koplar Communications. Nexstar and Koplar also have entered into a Time Brokerage Agreement pursuant to which Nexstar will provide programming and other services to KRBK during the pendency of the FCC application process. KRBK first signed on the air on August 1, 2009. Nexstar previously broadcast FOX on KSFX, FOX 27 until September 2011. Call letters were changed to KOZL and it became a MyNet affiliate.
FOX 5 broadcasts a full-hour of News @ 9pm Monday through Friday and FOX 5 AM from 7:00 -9:00 AM weekdays.
FOX Sports gives the station a strong base with the NFL, NASCAR, the UFC, MLB, College Basketball, USGA Golf and The Women’s World Cup. NFL coverage is primarily focused on the Dallas Cowboys. Station carries Special Edition with Jerry Jones and the Jason Garrett Show on the weekend. FOX 5 syndicated programming highlights are TMZ, Maury, Wilkos, Family Feud and Mom.
Other stations that can be found on the FOX 5 digital subchannels are MeTV, Movies!, and Ion Television.
