KRQE was acquired in late 2016 as part of the Media General acquisition. KRQE News 13, digital channel 13.1, is the CBS affiliate for the Albuquerque/Santa Fe market, and Fox New Mexico, digital channel 13.2, is the Fox affiliate. The stations have three transmitters: one in southeast New Mexico near Roswell; one in Durango, Colorado; and the main stick located 10,700 feet above sea level on the Sandia Mountains overlooking Albuquerque. The station has built its success by focusing on local sales projects and hyper-local news coverage (producing over 50 hours per week of local news). The station has a Joint Services Agreement with CW affiliate KWBQ, digital channel 19.1, and MyNetwork affiliate KASY, digital channel 50.1.
