WAWV D.3

Station Profile

In 2003, Mission Broadcasting entered into an agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of WBAK, a Fox affiliate, from a subsidiary of Bahakel Communications. Mission concurrently entered into a shared services agreement and joint sales agreement with Nexstar Broadcasting station WTWO. Following extensive consolidation construction, WFXW moved into the existing facilities of WTWO. In September of 2011, the station switched affiliations and became the market’s first local ABC affiliate in the past 16 years and changed call letters to WAWV, ABC for the Wabash Valley. The station began a “Live at Five” newscast using personnel from WTWO. In addition to ABC’s lineup of hit programs delivered in HD, the station launched the market’s first ever live streaming newscast on mywabashvalley.com, weeknights at 10pm Eastern. WAWV’s syndicated programming includes Big Bang Theory, Two and Half Men, The Office, Friends and Judge Judy.
