WCTX, a MyNetworkTV affiliate, began broadcasting as an independent on April 3, 1995 under a local marketing agreement with LIN TV, owner of sister station WTNH. In 1996, the station became a WB affiliate, changed to a UPN affiliate in 2005 and then became a MyNetworkTV affiliate in 2006. Since 2000, WCTX has broadcast an award-winning 10pm newscast. The station is also proud to be Connecticut’s broadcast home for New York Yankees baseball, airing more than 20 games each season.
