Lexington, KY is in the 63rd largest DMA in the United States, with a population of approximately and 515,060 television households, as reported by Nielsen Media.

Situated in the heart of bluegrass country, Lexington is Kentucky’s second-largest city. It is known as the world capital of the horse racing industry and a cultural hub of the state. Future economic indicators are positive. Lexington is home to the headquarters of Lexmark International and schools like Transylvania University, the University of Kentucky and Bluegrass Community & Technical College. The city is characterized for its surrounding horse farms that give the region its identity, but also for its rapidly developing urban center.

Employment is dispersed among government, education and healthcare, retail trade, manufacturing, professional and business services, and construction.  As a result of these diverse opportunities, Lexington’s unemployment rate is typically lower than the rest of the state and nation.  Residents of the area enjoy strong employment opportunities in equine related businesses, health care, retail and services. Principal manufactured products include automobiles, automobile parts, peanut butter, cutting tools, heating and air conditioning equipment, paper cups and products, software, sunroofs, and military equipment.
