Nexstar Broadcasting purchased WETM-TV (NBC) from Newport Television on December 1st, 2012. WETM also operates WETM.2, an independent TV station in the Elmira-Corning market. While the Elmira-Corning DMA is comprised of 4 counties the WETM “service area” covers a total of 6 counties: Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler and Tioga Counties in NY and Tioga and Bradford Counties in PA.

In addition to a full line-up of NBC prime, news and sports programming, WETM carries top-rated syndicated programming, including Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune plus a number of highly successful syndicated talk shows. WETM’s local news has long been the market leader, delivering as many as 6 times more viewers than the competitive local newscasts. WETM.2, the independent station carries popular syndicated programming plus a wide variety of local programming, including local high school sports, holiday parades, telethons, live political debates and Yankees baseball during the summer and fall months.

WETM has been long recognized as a community leader, supporting a wide variety of community outreach organizations and events.
