Nexstar Broadcasting Group purchased WFFF, a FOX affiliate, from Smith Broadcasting on March 1, 2013. WFFF is the market’s youngest station, signing on August 31, 1997. The station is known in the market as Fox 44 and broadcasts in Vermont, upstate New York and northern New Hampshire. It also has significant viewership in Montreal, Quebec. WFFF became the first station to broadcast a local 10pm newscast with the launching of the Fox 44 News at 10pm in December 2007. It was also the market’s first HD news product.
Fox 44 10pm News expanded to an hour in September 2009. Ratings have grown steadily with double digit growth year to year. The station is also home to syndicated programs like Dr. Oz, Judge Alex, and Two and Half Men. We are the market leader in access with Big Bang Theory. Fox prime and blockbuster sports like NFL, NASCAR and NY Yankees and Red Sox baseball, makes Fox 44 a favorite with both local and Canadian viewers.
