Nexstar Broadcasting Group purchased WJKT-TV 16 a FOX affiliate, from Newport Broadcasting Corporation in December of 2012. WJKT-TV Channel 16 signed on in 1985, becoming Jackson’s third television station. Today, FOX 16 airs national breaking news coverage from FOX News and broadcasts a one hour local/regional newscast 7 nights a week at 9pm produced by sister station WLMT-TV CW 30 in Memphis. FOX 16’s studios are in Memphis with offices in Jackson. FOX 16’s syndicated programming includes Dr. Phil, Judge Judy, Maury, People’s Court, Judge Mathis, Paternity Court, The Big Bang Theory and favorites like Andy Griffith. Viewers of FOX enjoy FOX primetime programs like Empire, Scream Queens, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Lethal Weapon.
