Nexstar acquired WJET, an ABC affiliate, in January 1998. Later that year, WJET began a time brokerage agreement with Mission Broadcasting station WFXP, better known locally as FOX 66, the local Fox affiliate. As a result, both stations have realized significant operating efficiencies.
