Nexstar Broadcasting Group purchased WMBB-TV, an ABC affiliate, from Hoak Media on 6/13/14. Throughout its history, WMBB has long had a focus on local news, weather and sports. WMBB was one of the first stations in the country to go live on the web continuous during Hurricane Dennis in 2004 and has always been on the forefront of technology. WMBB was the first station in the Panama City Market to go full HD in both news and syndication and in 2013 launched Me-TV Panama City, a secondary channel focusing on classic sitcoms.

WMBB’s syndicated programming includes Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, LIVE with Kelly and Michael, and Entertainment Tonight. A true leader in the Panhandle, WMBB strives to inform and enlighten their community through superior weather coverage, unsurpassed local news, and a sports team that puts local sports first.
